Business Development Manager
Job Description Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for growing assigned accounts and obtaining new customers for Agility EMS. The BDM is responsible for identifying and developing strategic business relationships in our customer base to meet or exceed the annual fiscal Sales and Gross Margin goals and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Duties
- Grow Sales, Gross Profit, and New Accounts (Weight 75%)
- Profitably increase the sales, gross profit dollars, and gross profit percentage of assigned accounts.
- Be alert to industry trends, competitive products, and marketing techniques.
- Independently schedule and maintain field sales calls and other customer contact activities.
- Review customer profiles to determine proper account strategies and apply appropriate pricing.
- Appropriate pricing considers items like target market, market segment, customer tier, supplier tier, competitive position, and market intelligence.
- Seek new Design Registrations and / or Special Pricing Agreements as much as possible to strengthen the company’s value propositions.
- Obtain new customers that meet the selected criteria identified by management.
- Be the Voice of Customer to Company to identify new or expanded company products and services.
- Continually cultivate Company/Client relationships and broaden contact outreach.

- Basics (Weight 25%)
- Attend and enthusiastically participate in company events such as meetings, training sessions and trade shows as directed.
- Continually look for and communicate improvements in internal processes.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records in the data systems: Epicor, Outlook, contact directories and other appropriate records.
- Prepare and submit thoughtful, prompt customer activity reporting, itineraries, mileage, and expense reports.
- Coordinate, promote and communicate selling efforts by working with factory representatives and / or directly with our suppliers through the use of buddy calls, sponsoring customer trade fairs and keeping the appropriate parties appraised of competitive pricing situations.

Working Conditions
- Hybrid office environment.
- Typically, in the field, but Tuesday office presence for team collaboration and meetings.
- Customer visits and external training as needed.
Education, Skill and Experiences
- Four-year college degree or technical certificate / degree.
- Ten years of proven sales experience, preferably within the electronic/automation controls/mobile equipment industry.
- Skilled in use of MS Office suite of applications.
- Skilled at establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Competitive by nature with a strong desire to win.
- Good at working with others in a team to achieve goals.
