Flat Cable Solutions is the one-stop shop for everything related to flat cable processing and assemblies. Your Custom Flat Ribbon Cable Resource. Helping You Get What You Need.

Flat Cable Solutions is the one-stop shop for anything related to flat cable processing and assemblies. If you need to do something to a flat ribbon cable, contact us. We are the experts that can tell you how to do it and quickly get you the products you need. Let us help you get where you need to be with our value-added wire and cable products.

Measure and Cut

This is where the processing begins. Our automated processors quickly and accurately cut to length the required materials in consistent and repeatable lengths. They are capable of handling material up to 4 inches wide and cutting lengths as short as 0.5 inches. We can also process larger assemblies manually by hand.

Stripping

Full strip or strip and retain, we offer both mechanical and laser stripping options and have the experience to recommend the best solution for your needs. Our lasers allow us to provide shorter strip lengths as well as window strips and ablations. We still offer mechanical stripping because it is a much more economical than laser stripping.

Tinning

The tinning process is used to bond the individual strands of a conductor together. This eliminates what is typically called bird-caging. All tinned items are hand dipped in Kester K100LD solder unless otherwise specified.

Standard Kinked Jumper

Kinked tails improve retention of the jumper to the board prior to soldering. Flat Cable Solutions’ Standard Kinked Jumpers provide the same PCB hole layout as our straight jumpers (without kinked tails). Stranded tinned and top-coated wire is used to provide rigid kinked tails for easy insertion.

Separating

Separating the conductors of a flat ribbon cable can serve many purposes. Separating the conductors at the end of a cable allows contacts to be crimped on. Applying this process to other areas of the cable is done to provide flexibility where needed. We can provide separations in any quantity from single conductors to pairs, quads, or any other configuration you require.

Notching

Our pressure switches use a diaphragm and small piston to push open or close a set of contacts. The switches come in either fixed pressure or adjustable by means of rotating a screw in the end cap. Pressure switches can be used to monitor pressure and can either trigger an over pressure cut out or low pressure warning condition.

Terminating

We provide terminating of IDC connectors and contacts such as those from Pancon, AMP, Molex and others. This allows us to ship you a completed assembly ready for use saving you time and money.
